In anticipation of the Jan. 2006 Federal election, CPBH identified the following six important issues relating to new homes.
Need for the Federal Government to revise the National Building Code
Need for the Federal Government to take the lead in the development of a builder rating system
Need for the Federal Government to ensure affordable housing units are properly built and go beyond the minimum of applicable Building Codes Need for the Federal Government to conduct national study on health effects of improperly built homes and their impact on Canada's health care system Need for the Federal Government to consult with consumers prior to finalizing housing policies
Need for Federal Government to work with other levels of government to ensure Building Codes are enforced.
